Saariselkä Ski & Sport Resort will host its first Riders Cup World Championship contest. The competition will be held in February in Saariselkä, made in cooperation with the Finnish Ice Cross Downhill association. There are 10 World Championship series competitions in Ice Cross Downhill all-together over the winter season 2017-18, four Red Bull Crashed Ice competitions and six Riders Cup competitions.

Registrations are fully underway, and already 100 of the worlds best athletes in the scene from 19 different countries, have registered. The competition will host star athletes such as recent back-to-back world champion Cameron Naasz, Jim De Paoli and world championship brothers Scott and Kyle Croxall.
